ARRESTED: Murder

Jesus Genaro Salas (37)

On May 26, 2018 at approximately 02:00 am, Officer responded to a call of an assault on the 5500 block of Padre Island Hwy. Witnesses advised that the victim, identified as Hugo Tapia Flores (49), and the suspect were involved in a verbal argument initially and then turned physical when the suspect punched the victim in the face causing the victim to fall back and hit his head on the concrete floor. The victim was taken to a local hospital and the suspect had left the scene. The victim expired on June 02, 2018 as a result of the injuries sustained. Autopsy was ordered. Further investigation identified the suspect as Jesus G. Salas and a warrant for Murder was obtained. Subject Salas turned himself in this morning and was charged with the pending warrant. Case remains under investigation.
