Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance (cocaine) 41.3 grams

On 01/12/17 at approximately 09:30pm, Special Investigation Unit K9 Officer conducted a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Charger for traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ruben Miranda Juarez. The front passenger was identified as his spouse. During the traffic stop, both were observed to be very nervous. Verbal consent to search the vehicle was obtained. SIU Narcotics Agents were also called to the scene since Officers believed that contraband may be hidden on the occupants or in the vehicle. Juarez’ spouse admitted that her husband had given her a sock to conceal during the traffic stop. She advised that she did not know what was in the sock and took it out voluntarily from her bra area. The sock was found to contain seven zip-loc type baggies with cocaine. Juarez was given his Miranda Rights and admitted to the offense. Juarez provided written consent to search his residence located on the 2900 block of Stanolind St. Additional cocaine was found in the kitchen area of the residence. The total amount of cocaine recovered was 41.3 grams. Juarez was booked into city jail for the offense of Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance. A statement was secured from the spouse and she was released.
