Unauthorized Reproduction, purchase, use or sale of Temp Tags (X5) Breach of Computer Security (X5)

On 1-12-2017 at 9:15 AM, Auto Theft Agents arrested Deisy Yael Lopez-Becerra and Jesus Lopez-Becerra for the offenses of Unauthorized Reproduction of Temporary Tags and Breach of Computer Security. Upon conducting a routine business inspection at Jesse L. Auto Sales located at 2603 East 14th Street in Brownsville, Agents discovered that the business was operating with an expired Motor Vehicle Dealer License. Contact was made with TX DMV who confirmed the expired license. It was also confirmed that the business had produced multiple temporary tags for vehicles that were claimed to be sold even after the license expired. Investigation revealed that both Deisy and Jesus were accessing the TX DMV database and producing temporary tags for vehicles that were never actually sold by the Dealership and producing temporary tags for vehicles that they claimed to be sold after their license expired for a fee. At this time, both subjects were each charged with 5 counts of Unauthorized Reproduction of Temporary Tags and 5 counts of Breach of Computer Security.
