On March 11, 2019 at approximately 10:40 A.M., Officers responded to the 5700 block of Padre Island Highway in reference to a hit and run accident involving a pedal cyclist. Officers arrived on scene and found an unresponsive male subject, identified as Nicholas Garza Torres (79), who was pronounced deceased at the scene. On 02/27/2019, Brownsville Police Officers responded to the 1100 block of E. Washington St. in reference to an aggravated robbery.  Officers made contact with the victim who advised that the suspect displayed a knife and took the victim’s wallet.  After the victim provided a description of the suspect and his last direction of travel, Officers spotted the suspect in the area getting into a taxi.  The suspect got off of the taxi in the area of South Frontage Rd. and International Blvd., where Officers and Brownsville Police Detectives...
